4 months Old

It is so funny how the thought of having been pregnant feels like it was soo long ago but the idea that I have a 4 month old feels so crazy at the same time!  I can't believe 4 months has gone by. It has by far been the best 4 months of my life and I can't wait for more!

Here are some current Baylor stats:

-Baylor is wearing size 2 diapers, though daycare thinks he needs to move up a size, we are not so sure just yet.

-Just this week he has moved up to 6 oz bottles of breastmilk 3-4xs per day. He still breastfeeds when he is with me (late afternoons and evenings, weekends).

-He is wearing 3-6 month clothes still

-Sleep has been up and down. I have heard there is a 4 month sleep regression and believe we have hit that a tad.  Sometimes he will sleep all night and other times he will wake up once or twice.  Sometimes he just needs a paci and sometimes he will want to eat when he wakes.

-Baylor has found his voice and uses it a lot! He will talk all the time, even yell really loud! I think he likes to hear his own voice.  He is starting to laugh a lot.  He thinks the dogs are hilarious, not sure the feeling is mutual though!

-Last weekend, he rolled over for the first time from tummy to back.  He did it a ton and seemed so proud of himself.  Since then he has not done it again.  We are anxiously waiting for him to do it again.  It is so exciting to see him hit major milestones!

-He has begun to love his exercauser/jumper.  He is still trying to figure it out and seeing him trying to jump is precious.

-We think he weighs about 14lbs, but we won't know until we go for his check-up next week

Obsessed

We have been busy as usual, but I thought I'd take a minute while I could to document the last few days/weeks. It's tough with a baby, they sure keep you busy!

We will start with the cutest thing alive. Baylor wore this shirt on Monday to school. It says "Older chicks dig me". When I picked him up that day he had peed on his shirt.  I had to tell him, "Baylor if you pee on yourself, older chicks may not dig you".  But then he started to stick his tongue out and smile at another little baby girl around his age.  True story. Guess he doesn't like the older chicks.

We also recently got him a high chair and he loves it. Like he will stick his tongue out and smile at the same time he loves it so much.

Here's photographic proof that I do have a personal life outside of Baylor. Tuesday we went to Chow Down with the girls at a restaurant named Five. It was delicious and the company was great! It was fun getting out with the girls!

Hello red face.

This drink may or may not have been the cause of my red face. It was a strawberry lemonde and there may or may not have been some liquor in it. I'll let you guess. It was amazing.

And now back to my obsession sweet baby boy. He's so damn cute. I try to get in as much play time with him as I can. On that note, he just woke up....time to play!

9 Random facts about me that you probably don't care to know.

1. Since Baylor has been born, I have not sorted my clothes before I wash them. Don't talk about my dingy whites behind my back please.

2. Speaking of laundry, Matt and I have always done the 'roomate method' which is amazing. It means I do my own and he does his own. Yeah, I'm that great of a wife.

3. I have a static station programmed in my car. And sometimes I jam to static out loud. It is one of the few things that will calm Baylor down when he is upset in the car.

4. I chew my nails when I am bored. Which may be what you are right now.

5. I feel guilty when I don't blog often. Because I know ya'll on are the edge of your seats waiting for my life changing posts. But seriously, I do feel bad when I don't blog often.

6. I sound like a weirdo when I am out in public with Baylor and it is just the 2 of us. I will talk to him about everything. Like "ohhh look at the fruit. I should get some bananas and make banana sandwich's. Mommy loves Banana sandwiches..." Yeah, I am a weirdo.

7. I over analyze punctuation in texts and emails. Someone can write "it's fine." and I think "hmmm she used a period. is she really fine? Is she not fine but saying she is fine? surely she is fine?" Becuase of this over analyzation, I over-use exclamation points so people know I am happy! and cheerful! just in case they may be analyzing my message also.

8. I had a pet Chinchilla growing up.

9. I research everything. Before we go out to eat I will look up the menu and sometimes the calories in each dish. If I go on a trip I check trip advisor for places to go and reviews. I google books and read people's reviews of it before buying one. I have now started looking at amazon at baby toys before buying. I'm pretty sure this drives Matt crazy.

Life lately and some other random thoughts

I swear I haven't fallen off the face of the planet.

I swear I have a life.

I am just so busy with that life that I don't have time to blog much about it. Whoever said that a baby changes everything was so right. I mean, like dead on right. It's amazing how Baylor arrived and within a millisecond, my priorities and everything that mattered to me changed.

I recently read that once you have a baby it feels as though your heart is walking around outside of your body. That is exactly how I feel now. When I am not with Baylor I feel like I am naked. Everything I do and think about 99% of the time revolves around him. I can't imagine having another child because I feel like there is no way I could love him or her as much as I do Baylor (and I know that I will love that baby just as much when it happens one day, it just doesn't feel like I could).

I am back at work and I think it is good for me to be working. Yes, I would love to be a stay at home mom, but I love my job and let me tell you, being at home with a baby is hard work. I don't know how some people do it. My "career" or job is waaayyy easier than being a stay at home mom. I can't believe I ever thought stay at home moms had it easy. Ha! Anyways, I am back at work and I like being in a normal routine.  It is definitely hard being away from Baylor for any amount of time, but I think I appreciate the time we do get together way more.

Baylor started school as I mentioned in his 3 month old post.  I love it and I think he does too. The teachers are so sweet and they always sing his praises because "he is such a perfect baby" and is "so precious" (their words, not mine! though I do have to agree!). He smiles a lot when he is there and seems happy to be dropped off in the morning which is such a relief.  I love the fact that we have many friends and even family that have their children there so we can always check on each other's babies.

Other than spending the majority of our time with Baylor we have been getting out a lot. This weekend Matt and I went out to celebrate our friend Matt's birthday.  We have had several date nights just us two and a few fun-filled nights out with friends. We also try to get out often with Baylor also so he is used to getting out and going places. Of course since he is such a "perfect baby" (again, quoting others here ;) ) he does great 99.9% of the time when we are out.

Overall, things are amazing. Life is good. God is good.
