Welcome to the 21st Century

So, I did not mention what we specifically went shopping for this weekend when I mentioned we went shopping. When we purchased our new treadmill, we did not expect it to be as large as it was. And hey, I am not complaining, it rocks! However, our dinosaur television which I enjoyed watching Oprah on during my runs was being blocked by the screen of the treadmill. Well, no Oprah makes me sad so we had to figure out a plan B. The room itself is just not large enough to make due with the dinosaur television, so we decided to enter the 21st century and purchase a small flat screen which we could mount on the wall. After numerous trips to Home Depot and other various stores, we found a TV we liked and were able to get at a decent price along with a shelf and some cord covers (not really sure if they are called that) which we Matt painted to match the wall. I think it turned out great. My hubby rocks for putting up with me and my crazy Oprah loving-running ways. And by the way, Oprah was a good one today.

  1. Yay for getting a new tv :) I'm not a big oprah fan, but I agree that having something to watch makes the time go more quickly!

  3. SR sent me over here :) Yayy for new treadmills. Did I hear correctly that you are running a 1/2 in Nashville this month? Is it perhaps the Country Music one? I'll be there and it's my first full marathon!

  4. Hi Jessica! Found your blog from SkinnyRunner's! I ran the Nashville half marathon last year with my 50-year-old dad. It was my first one and he kicked my butt, but it was so worth it!! Good luck!! :o)

  5. Just came over from skinny runner and wanted to say hi.

Also good luck on your half! I can't wait to hear about it. My mom lives near Knoxville and I want to get down there for a race sometime.

  6. What a sweet set up! I love it. And if your favorite show motivates you to run further I say it's well worth it! I just found you through Skinnyrunner and I'm happy to find another fellow Alabamian transplant! I'm originally from Maryland and moved to Alabama almost 6 years ago. I saw your profile and agree that I enjoy the slower lifestyle. Moving from an area right outside DC and close to Baltimore the slower pace here helps with stress..... sometimes. I can't wait to read more!

  10. Your blog is so upbeat and fun. I'll be following. I ran the Nashville Half three years ago and I think I wasn't prepared for the heat (I'm from Wyoming). But being in Alabama you should be just fine, I hope it is a wonderful experience.

I'm also running my first half this year and we share the same first name. :) Your wedding pic is gorgeous, enjoy your treadmill...I love mine, but I don't watch Oprah, I watch all things 'Real Housewives'. 15. Another stopping by from skinny runner! I'm also running the country music half next weekend. This will be my 3rd half. I did the country music half and women's half here in Nashville last year. You have such a cute blog! My best friend and running buddy is a social worker- child abuse investigator so I can relate through her stories. Have a great Easter weekend and good luck next weekend!
